Lisa B. Murphy MBA FMT
A lifelong horsewoman, born into breeding and training horses, Lisa started her passion at an early age on her parent's Polka-Dot Acres, where they raised and trained Appaloosa horses and Dalmatians, along with a myriad of goats, cows and pigs.
Lisa began her serious riding pursuits in 4-H with most of her riding done in Colorado with the Boulder County 4-H group. At that time, Dressage wasn't known in the 4-H circles and jumping was totally foreign to the program. However, Lisa's passion to be an event rider helped her to push the programs to expand opportunities for riders of all disciplines and in her last year of 4-H, they actually offered both Dressage and jumping classes at the County and State Fair.
Not being satisfied with just one accomplishment, and feeling that burning drive to learn, know and live the Eventing lifestyle, Lisa began to research opportunities to train with the best of the best in Eventing, while she was in her first year at William Woods University. The opportunity presented itself and Lisa found an amazing woman by the name of Ann Kitchel, who was willing to take a chance on a girl, a young stallion and a promise of hard work in exchange for an endless thirst for knowledge. Ann's Huntington Farm introduced Lisa to a life she never knew was possible and she has never looked back since. Lisa competed heavily from Novice through Advanced starting with her apprenticeship at Vermont's famous Huntington Farms through events such as Southern Pines, Fair Hill, and many hundreds more until a serious skiing accident sidelined her in 2006.
After a ten year rehabilitation, Lisa is back in the saddle and coaching - bringing along a lovely group of young horses and talented riders who have their sights on the top levels of the sport!
Lisa is currently competing 2 of her homebred thoroughbreds, with several up-and-coming young horses and Off-Track-Thoroughbreds.
Lisa has been selected as one of the Elite Trainers fort the Retired Racehorse Project (RRP) competition in 2017. This competition showcases young thoroughbreds after their racing career and in their new niche in life - Lisa specializes in Eventing, but also has projects in Dressage and Show Jumping.
Lisa specializes in helping all riders of any abilities accomplish their dreams and goals while also helping horses be the best they can be at the niche that best suits them. "We all want to be the best we can be at our job, and sometimes we have to find the job that is best for us!"
